Session
Not since the 1980s has technology changed as quickly as in recent months. Reprising the early PC era, capitalism dictates the pace and control of Large-Language-Model-backed generative artificial intelligence (LLM-gen-AI).
Understandably, the FOSS community is outraged; LLM-gen-AI ballyhoo violates our core principles of sharing, cooperation, and mutual assistance. Fear abounds while LLM-gen-AI impacts us; it divides our community.
Of course, we shouldn't accept useless slop; yet, LLM-gen-AI does not represent an existential threat to FOSS. Disciplined usage of LLM-gen-AI provides us an opportunity to improve FOSS, and undo the bad policies promulgated by the purveyors of LLM-gen-AI.
Come learn my plan for how we can do it!
