Vagrant Cascadian
Vagrant strives to make Reproducible Builds a best practices reality for everyone. Vagrant discovered free software late last millennium and has been contributing to free software since the beginning of this millennium. A long-time Debian Developer and contributor to Guix, tinkering with ARM and RISC-V systems, Vagrant contrasts spending too much time on computers with aikido, bicycle commuting and a DIY solar hobby.
Session
What if we developed a Federated network that was intentionally... not connected to the internet?
An off-line first, off-grid network...
Where limited range and high degrees of locality were a feature to help build connections between neighbors?
Where slow and possibly infrequent, sporadic connectivity between neighborhoods was a design intention, maybe even a special occasion?
Where information could be delivered by bicycle, or seriously, why not carrier pidgeon?
There is free software to make this possible already, time to put the pieces together!
